Living Mural is an 8000 sqft interactive jungle environment, giving visitors agency to explore and discover a fully interactive, real-time space. The objective is to make one of the most interactive canvases in the world.
Guests can actively bring the illustrative rainforest mural to life in a magical multi-sensory experience with direct interactions, group play, spatial sound (via Holoplot) and a larger 40min narrative. Interactions are individual and collaborative, leading to a game-like experience that can be shared with friends and family.
The project is a massive technical and creative undertaking. I serve as technical director, working directly in Unreal Engine and managing a cross-functional team of creatives, game developers, creative technologists, sound engineers, and system engineers across New York, Atlanta and Las Vegas. I also interface directly with vendors, hire staff and manage product requirements.
The on-site pipeline uses a next-generation version of d3 disguise and Renderstream with 40 RX machines rendering thousands of pixels in real-time over 30+ projectors. Interactions are registered via LIDAR sensors throughout the space.
